Steve

Steve Thomason, LMSW, LCDC
Executive Director

Steve Thomason is a Licensed Master of Social Work and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. A Texas native, he obtained his Master of Social Work from The University of Texas at San Antonio and his Bachelors in Psychology from Texas State University. Steve believes that evidenced based treatment along with the 12 step model can help solidify long term recovery. He is also a proponent for a strong continuum of care after residential treatment. Steve brings to The Springboard Center over 10 years of Clinical and Executive experience working with numerous recovery programs throughout Texas. He is responsible for the development and vision of The Springboard Center, as well as building partnerships throughout the Permian Basin to impact community awareness on addiction treatment.

Dr. Shaughnessy

Dennis M. Shaughnessy, M.D., FASAM, MRO
Medical Director

In 1969, Dr. Shaughnessy received his Medical Degree from the Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1980, he completed a Residency in General Surgery through Creighton and Marshall University in West Virginia. Dr. Shaughnessy was certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) in 1992 and became a full time practitioner in Addiction Medicine with the opening of The Springboard Center intensive outpatient program (IOP) in 2002. He has continued in this capacity with the opening of the residential and detoxification services in 2009. In 2010, he joined the American Board of Addiction Medicine and in 2016 was designated as a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Shaughnessy is also certified as a Medical Review Officer (MRO).

Josh

Josh Barnett
Admission Director

Josh has over 10 years of extensive experience working in treatment facilities and works closely with clients as well as their family members to locate the correct program to help aid in long-term sobriety and begin the journey of recovery. Josh has a personal passion to help those in recovery and is an avid consumer of all things geeky; recognizing that passion should never need apologizing. “Changing your life is hard. Changing your perception in which you see your world is easy. Let me help you begin a path to a new life.”

Jessica

Jessica Jones, RN
Director of Nursing

Jessica graduated with an Associates in Nursing from Midland College and is currently working on her BS in Nursing. She works with all nurses in our Detox Unit overseeing client care. She also reviews with insurance companies the best utilization care for each client. Jessica has over 10 years of experience in the field of Mental Health and Substance Abuse.

Jalain

Jalain Bagley
Finance Director

Jalain Bagley brings over 10 years of business management experience to The Springboard Center. As the Director of Finance, she oversees all financial reporting, billing, auditing, banking, payroll, and human resources for the center. Jalain works closely with clients and their families on payment arrangements prior to their completion. She is an asset to operational leadership and cares a great deal about the recovery community she works with on a daily basis. Jalain is also a dedicated member of the Midland Downtown Rotary, residing as their President during the 2014-2015 fiscal year.

Karissa Kienast
Director of Development and Marketing

Karissa Kienast comes to The Springboard Center with more than 7 years of experience in marketing and development. She graduated with a B.A. in Communications from Valparaiso University and is working on her M.A. in Organizational Leadership at Lewis University. Karissa is passionate about her community and serves as the Communications Chair for the United Way of Odessa and the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Permian Basin, and is a member of the Junior League of Midland. She was named one of the 40 Leaders Under 40 by the Rockford, Illinois Chamber of Commerce, 20 Under 40 by Midland Magazine, and is a graduate of both Leadership Midland and Leadership Odessa.

Charlotte

Charlotte Davis, LCDC
Inpatient Program Coordinator

Charlotte obtained an Associate degree specializing in Alcohol and Drug Addiction in 2006 from Odessa College. She is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and has had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient services as well as therapeutic community (TDCJ). This diverse experience has provided Charlotte with much knowledge and understanding in treating individuals who present with addiction issues. Charlotte has a personal passion for recovery and believes it is an ongoing process and a strong foundation is built in treatment. “Whatever you believe is what you become.”
