Stephanie Schoen-Orr, MS, LPC

Executive Director

Stephanie has been a psychotherapist for 19 years. She has held administrative positions in several agencies, including psychiatric hospitals, and has a long history in substance abuse treatment program supervision. She is currently working on her Doctorate in Psychology through California Southern University and was recently accepted into the Harvard Business School for an HBX course. She has passion for the people she works with and the clients who come to The Springboard Center to seek hope. Stephanie is also passionate about her family, her pets, travel, and art.

Dennis Shaughnessy, MD

Medical Director

In 1969, Dr. Shaughnessy received his Medical Degree from the Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1980, he completed a Residency in General Surgery through Creighton and Marshall University in West Virginia. Dr. Shaughnessy was certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) in 1992 and became a full time practitioner in Addiction Medicine with the opening of The Springboard Center Intensive Outpatient (IOP) in 2002. He has continued in this capacity with the opening of the residential and detoxification services in 2009. In 2010, he was certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine and in 2016 was designated as Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

Casey Estrada, LCDC

Clinical Director

Casey is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas Tech University in 2009 and achieved her Counselor Intern license in July of 2010.  She became fully licensed as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in 2013.  Casey has had the opportunity to work in a variety of positions in the field of addiction which have allowed her to continue to grow as a counselor and gain an expanded knowledge of addiction and recovery. Casey has 8 years of experience as a counselor in the field of addiction and recovery. Casey’s previous positions in the field have included Residential Coordinator and Residential Director prior to working at The Springboard Center.

Zach Neuser, PRS, Ci

Director of Admissions

Zach is a warm, charismatic, and passionate individual that strives to help each client get one step closer to becoming their happiest, healthiest, and most authentic self. Zach graduated from Midland College with a degree specializing in alcohol and drug abuse counseling and is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Business Administration at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Upon completion of his bachelor degree, Zach will be attending Rice University where he was accepted to pursue an MBA in Finance.Zach is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern and a certified Peer Recovery Specialist whose focus is to ensure that clients obtain the resources they need in order to recreate their lives. In his free time, Zach participates in the recovery community and enjoys traveling for recovery events and leisure activities. “I believe in recovery, and as a role model I have the responsibility to let young people know that you can make a mistake and come back from it.” –Ann Richards

Melinda Webb, BSN, RN

Director of Nursing

Mindy graduated from Midland College in 2008 as a Registered Nurse and later achieved a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas – Arlington in 2014. Mindy has plans to return for higher education with the goal of a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). Mindy is certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center in surgical nursing as well as trauma. Previously, Mindy has been recognized for her spectacular care to her patients as a recipient of the Daisy award (given through nominations by patients) and also the Flying Ace award, which recognizes superb leadership.  Mindy enjoys travelling, with an eye on worldwide visits with her family.  “I look forward to helping you along your road to sobriety including your detox experience.  I’m honored to work with a group of great nurses where we put the emphasis on teamwork, including you.”

Christopher Pierce

Director of Marketing

Christopher started at The Springboard Center in September 2016, as a Recovery Tech in the Detox and Residential units and later served as a Sober Living House Manager for one year. After those experiences, Christopher was promoted to Administrative Assistant, and then to Utilization Review Manager, and is now our Director of Marketing. He is passionate about recovery, and helping others. In his free time, Christopher loves to play golf and Bingo!

Jalain Bagley

Finance Director

Jalain brings over 18 years of business management experience to The Springboard Center. As the Director of Finance, she has a very strong administrative team and oversees all financial reporting, billing, auditing, banking, payroll, and human resources for the center. Jalain works closely with her staff in order to ensure efficiency in her departments as well as working with the Admissions Team to provide clients and their families with payment arrangements prior to their arrival. She has been with The Springboard Center for over 5 years and is an asset to operational leadership and cares a great deal about the recovery community she works with on a daily basis.

Debbie Holden

Human Resource Manager

Debbie is relatively new to the HR world, however, she has over 20 years of experience in many aspects of office management, administrative positions, and customer service. Debbie took a break from office work, and in 2009 graduated with an Associate’s degree in Pastry & Baking from the Scottsdale Culinary Institute, a Le Cordon Bleu school, and she spent the last several years working as a Pastry Chef. Since joining The Springboard Center, Debbie has become a member of the Permian Basin chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management and National SHRM member, as well as becoming a Texas Notary Public. Her passions include her family, traveling, cooking and of course, baking! “Life is what you make it, so why not make it great!”

Carroll Prejean

Tech Supervisor

Carroll is a dedicated member of the local addiction treatment and recovery community and prior to working at the Springboard Center worked mainly in the hospitality industry. There he focused on customer service and held many different management positions which aided in his interpersonal development.  Carroll is responsible for aiding our Inpatient as well as Outpatient clients in learning and understanding the process of twelve step modalities, including the tools necessary for long-term recovery and became certified as a Peer Recovery Specialist in April 2016. Carroll’s no-nonsense attitude along with a demeanor of spiritual gratitude have been the main attributes which have benefited a substantial number of clients in their recovery in the time he has been at The Springboard Center. “I feel that the most important thing I can do for a client is show them love, compassion, acceptance, understanding, and forgiveness until they can show it to themselves.”

Mary O. Salinas

Office Manager

Mary joined The Springboard Center team in December, 2017, coming to us from the Palmer Drug Abuse Program where she was the office manager for 27 years. She is a hardworking, dependable, friendly, and kind person who loves to help people. Mary is very capable of taking the lead when necessary. She has also been a Texas Notary Public for 16 years. Her current personal goal is to work for at least five more years and then retire so she can enjoy traveling with her husband and spending more time with her family.

Amy Young, PRS

Compliance Manager

Amy graduated from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in 2002, earning a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Finance. She joined the Springboard Center in 2017 after mainly working in the finance industry. There is nothing she values more than seeing those who are suffering discover the transformative power of sobriety. “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others” -Mohandas Gandhi

John Labowski

Facilities Manager

John is a native of Midland, and has been in his role of Facility Manager for several years at The Springboard Center. John enjoys boating, small home improvement projects, NASCAR, and his pets – a dog and 2 cats. John is a member of the NFPA FM Advisory Council, a current member of TAHFM, and a former Master Gardener. John is dedicated to helping our Center provide a beautiful, safe, healthy, and clean environment in which all of our staff and clients are able to live, work, and improve their lives and the lives of others.

Christina Sterling

Kitchen Manager

Christina has worked in the food and beverage industry for over 20 years. Working at The Springboard Center is different – we’re making a difference in people’s lives. It makes Christina feel good to be a part of our clients’ recovery. When the clients are excited about dessert, their smiles make her feel like she’s making a difference. “God has a plan for all of us, and there is a reason for all of us being here.”
